Hi All,
Remember weeks ago when I asked all of you for tips on how
to keep heads of lettuce fresh longer? Many…many…oh so
many of you insisted that Green Bags work like a charm. Not
just for lettuce but for other fresh produce! Well, our
sister company, PulseTV, just recently picked up these great
bags!
I bought a set when they first got them in to test out, and
for those who wrote to me about these bags…YOU WERE RIGHT!
They’re Great! I rarely throw away fruits or veggies anymore.
And the best part is the price! Get one package of 15 Green
Bags for $5.99 or pick up two packages (30 Green Bags) for $9.98.
Yep… you’re getting two for the normal price of one.
FOREVER GREEN BAGS – Package of 15…
Here’s a bit of information on how the Green Bags work:
Fruits, vegetables and flowers release ethylene gas while
ripening after harvesting or picking. Ethylene gas accelerates
ripening, aging and rotting. Green Bags absorb and remove this
damaging gas, dramatically extending the life of fruits,
vegetables and flowers.

Handy Hints #1:
To remove pesky bottle tops and jar lids, don a pair of
rubber gloves. Or twist a fat rubber band around the lid,
then twist open. Works like a charm.
Handy Hint #2:
As you unwind your Christmas tree lights wind them onton a
carboard square; then slide into storage bags.

Hi All,
John writes in…
I have been a long time subscriber to Handy Hints and find
your suggestions both helpful and facinating, thank you for
your efforts!
I know you have published hints on how to remove spilled
candle wax from linen tablecloths, but I cannot find any
suggestions in my archives. Can you help?
This sounds stupid but it works. Freeze the tablecloths and
the wax is very easy to scrape off with a sharp knife, if
scraping becomes difficult, refreeze the cloth.

Handy Hints #1:
When you buy a wreath at your local Christmas tree lot,
it’s fresh, green, and lush. By the time a week has gone by,
it’s starting to shed needles and look a little dry. To make
the wreath last longer, grab your can of hair spray and
spritz it all over as soon as you get the fresh wreath home.
The hair spray traps the moisture in the needles.
Handy Hint #2:
Problems with frizzy hair? Try this tip from hairstylist
Sopie Kaspar. “I always use Johnson’s Baby Bedtime lotion on
my hair when it’s frizzy. It’s very light – so it doesn’t
weigh my hair down – and it leaves the perfect amount of
shine. I swear it’s better than some expensive shine
products.” Take a dime-size amount and rub it between your
hands to warm it up, then run your fingers through your hair,
avoiding the scalp and roots.
