Hello Everyone,
More help is needed….
I know the growing season is over but can you or any of
your readers help with squirrels. They overtook our yard
eating all the peaches and zucchini. We did try a spray
on the peach and apple trees to keep them from climbing
the tree but they did anyway. Your help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Judy
Handy Hints Holly
Just read about the apple in the brown sugar to keep it
soft…I’ve always used the end crust from bread. Works
wonders. Thanks ~ Trish
They sell unglazed ceramic disks that you soak in water
for a while, pat dry, then put in the sealed brown sugar
container. Amazingly, the sugar will soften up again. I
imagine that a broken pottery shard (unglazed) would
accomplish the same thing. The key is that the humidity in
the container is maximized. If you are concerned about the
food safety of the pottery, just lay it atop a piece of
plastic wrap so that it doesn’t touch the sugar. Bill
